"Data error" Message on MediRoutes Maps

Information and resolution for a common error that appears on maps in MediRoutes Desktop

The above error is sometimes seen in the MediRoutes desktop app on the maps, usually on the Home tab. It may also show up on other tabs that require loading maps, like the Schedules tab or the Dispatch tab.

Similar Error

This error is different from the first one in appearance and content, but the cause of it is the same as the first error shown. Any error loading the maps is typically caused by an Internet or network-related issue.

Resolution

If you are seeing the error above, this would indicate a network or Internet issue or poor quality with your Internet connection. The Internet may still be working, but you could be experiencing slower speeds or lower bandwidth, high latency, or a significant number of dropped packets.

The Bing Maps API is particularly sensitive to internet connection issues, as it requires a constant connection to display the map effectively.

To try getting a better connection, we recommend first closing and reopening the MediRoutes desktop app to see if that resolves the error. If that does not resolve the error, you can check other websites on your computer to see if you are still able to load them on your network. If both of those items fail, check your Internet connection and consider contacting your ISP.

Tip: There are free tests available online to check your internet speeds and bandwidth. You may also be able to run a test from your Internet Provider's website.
