Granting Location Permission for MediRoutes Mobile (Android)

Recent Updates to the Android Operating System require you to specifically grant access to the devices location at all times, as opposed to only while using the app. This is so the app can still transmit your location data while MediRoutes Mobile is in the background or when the phone screen is turned off.  MediRoutes mobile will not transmit any location data while the App is closed or while you are signed out.  The app only transmits location data while you are logged in.  This setting is used to ensure that location is shared when MediRoutes is not in the foreground for your apps, for example, while using your devices Map application for turn by turn directions.

This article will walk through how to enable that functionality when installing a new instance of MediRoutes Mobile or in some cases, when updating to a new version.

Location Permission Initial Popup

This pop-up is provided by MediRoutes and details how exactly we use your devices location data.

Android Location Options

This dialog is provided by the Android Operating System to walk through what type of Location Access you wish to provide to the App.  Make certain that you select the 'Allow in Settings' link so that you can provide full access to the application.

Granting Location Access

Make certain that you select the "Allow all the time." option from the list of settings.  MediRoutes will not function unless you select this option from this screen.  After you have selected the "Allow all the time" option, you can click on the arrow at the top of the screen to return to MediRoutes Mobile.
