MediRoutes - ModivCare Integration

What is this new integration?

In 2021, ModivCare’ s (formerly known as LogistiCare) goal is to have all trips performed by transportation providers who adhere to specific digitization requirements. These requirements were created and implemented by ModivCare prior to the rollout of this program.

As the leader in NEMT software solutions, ModivCare has chosen MediRoutes as a premier software partner.  Transportation providers who use MediRoutes software to manage their trips, drivers and vehicles can digitally share relevant data automatically with ModivCare in real time through the recently released ModivCare API.

Why is this happening - is it required?

All transportation providers who want to perform ModivCare trips are being required by ModivCare to adhere to the new digitization standards. This is outlined in the ModivCare transportation provider agreement amendment that was signed between ModivCare and each transportation provider.

Please note: MediRoutes does not require any transportation provider to share their data.  MediRoutes software enables our customers to meet the new standards contractually required by ModivCare.

What data is shared from MediRoutes to ModivCare via the ModivCare API?

  • List of ModivCare Credentialed Vehicles
  • List of ModivCare Credentialed Drivers
  • Geolocation of all ModivCare credentialed vehicles when drivers are logged into a credentialed vehicle on the MediRoutes driver app.
  • Real Time Trip Data of a ModivCare Trip (Scheduled, En Route, Arrive and Perform Times, Customer No-Shows, Signatures, Trip Costs)

How do I setup this integration?

MediRoutes has created a guide to walk you step by step through exactly how to turn on this integration. An API key will need to be provided to Modivcare and the ModivCare default service types mapped within MediRoutes, so that trip and credentialing data can be sent.  To ensure trips are billed properly, once the API is turned on you will need drivers and vehicles matched and marked as credentialed within MediRoutes.   Finally, make certain all of your drivers are on the most recent version of the MediRoutes driver app, as any driver using an older version of the app may not have claims sent automatically.

What will change in MediRoutes?

Receiving trip data will now be wholly automated. Claims will be submitted to ModivCare like they were under ATMS, however MediRoutes is unable to change information such as the driver, vehicle, or times as we have been able to do in the past.   We have created a guide to show exactly what will change within your MediRoutes system. In addition to the changes above, ModivCare will now allow both canceling and re-routing of trips to be done within MediRoutes, without the need of a ModivCare portal login.  Data for ModivCare trips is prevented from being changed within MediRoutes, as ModivCare will make same day changes to addresses or times instantly as they are updated within the ModivCare LCAD system.

Who do I contact with questions?

Reach out to your local ModivCare Network Rep who should be able to answer most of the questions regarding this transition.  If they are unable to assist or you do not know how to contact your local rep, you can reach out to the ModivCare Digital Support Hotline at 800-597-2049.
