This is a guide for the backup processes available to get MTM trips created in your MediRoutes.
On occasion, you might have a missing MTM trip that did not get created in your MediRoutes system through the API. This could happen for several reasons, but MediRoutes has two backup processes you can use to get the trip created: the MTM Sync tool and the file import.
MTM Sync
The MTM Sync tool is a tool that basically asks MTM if our system can have your current trip log from them. We are then able to retrieve trips and trip updates that maybe did not make it through the API the first time. To run the MTM Sync:
- On your MediRoutes desktop application, make sure you are on the Home tab, and locate the Import Trips button under the red Trip Changes button. (It looks like a piece of paper with a blue down arrow on it.)
- You will now be on the Trip Import page, where you would normally import a file. Instead of remaining on the Import tab, click over to the MTM Sync tab.
- Enter the date of service for the trips you are missing and hit Sync Trips. (If you have more than one funding source connected to the MTM API, you will have to select which MTM funding source you are running the sync for.)
- You will receive a popup window telling you the number of trips that will be added, updated, and cancelled. Click Yes to continue.
- You should then see the list of all trips that will be added, updated, or cancelled through the sync in a data grid format on the right side of the screen. This trip data grid can be sorted by any of the columns like an Excel sheet to look for specific trips that were missing. All trips will be added and updated within the next few minutes. If trips are not being added but show up in the detailed list, please contact MediRoutes Support.
File Import
If the trips or trip updates that you are missing are not showing up in the MTM Sync list or are not being added by the sync due to an issue occurring, then the last resort to get the trip into the system will be a file import. MTM offers a trip file that can be imported into your MediRoutes system without needing to setup a custom import format. The trip authorization numbers are the same, so even if the trip is imported, you should still be able to bill the trip through the API and the MTM portal. For assistance with importing a trip file, you can use the following article:
Importing Trips from a CSV File
If you need assistance pulling the trip file from MTM’s portal, please contact MTM. If you pull the trip file, and it does not have the trips you are trying to create in your MediRoutes, please contact MTM.
