Scheduling Trips in MediRoutes
MediRoutes offers three ways to schedule trips, each suited to a different scenario: Shop Trip, Force to Route, and Batch Schedule. This article explains when to use each method and how to get started.
| Method | Best For | Level of Control |
| Batch Schedule | Scheduling many trips at once | Automated |
| Shop Trip | Individual trips with system recommendations | Guided |
| Force to Route | Direct assignment to a known route | Full Manual |
Batch Schedule
Schedule multiple trips at once. Instead of placing trips one at a time, MediRoutes evaluates the full set and assigns each trip to the best available route, saving significant time on high-volume days.
When to use it: Scheduling a large number of trips efficiently, such as building out a full day's schedule.
Shop Trip
The best option when you want to preview how a trip fits before committing. When you shop a trip, MediRoutes evaluates your active routes and returns ranked recommendations showing the best-fitting options. You can review how each placement affects the schedule before adding the trip to a route.
When to use it: Scheduling an individual trip when you want the system's recommendation on the best placement.
Force to Route
You assign the trip directly to the route of your choice. This is the fastest method when you already know exactly where a trip belongs.
When to use it: Assigning a trip to a specific route based on your own knowledge of drivers, vehicles, or client needs.
